Trending Foods | Reviews for Top 5 Must-Try Restaurants

I know I've said this many times before, but it's necessary to say it once more: if there's one thing you're going to see on my Instagram, it's food. I'm always on the lookout for new trending foods. I LOVE FOOD! I thank God every day for blessing us with taste buds that enable us to enjoy all the wonderfulness (wonderfulness... is that a
word?) of life. I mean, imagine if we were created with no sense of taste. How boring life would be. There would be no such thing as cravings, or discussions about what our favorites were. There would be no such thing as recipes, or mother-daughter bonding time where mom passes down generations of cooking knowledge down to her daughter. Eating would be perceived simply as an obligation, a requirement for survival consumed by dullness. However...IT'S NOT! Thank you, Jesus.

Since I'm really big on eating out, I'm constantly on the search for the best restaurants out there with the best tasting, trending foods. First I read reviews on what others think, try out the restaurant, and come back and write my own review. Sometimes I find reviews to be totally off. Sometimes they're right on point. Everyone is different, and that's OK. It's because of individuality that we were able to create a variety of foods that reflect cultural differences across the globe.

How you go about determining whether or not a restaurant is worthy of a good review is crucial. Criteria is everything. The criteria used when analyzing the potential of a restaurant should be way more than just about the food. The food might be great, but if the atmosphere is not up to par or the conditions of a restaurant are questionable, those factors will definitely play a role on whether or not you decide to visit a second time. You may think, "Well, what's the big deal? If the food is great, why would the atmosphere matter? I care about what I'm eating, not the people around me." Trust me, I used to think the same way. It took a couple of unpleasant experiences for me to start caring about where I decided to invest my time and money.

If you really take a moment to look back, I'm pretty sure you will realize that you yourself have had less than optimal experiences but didn't think much of it. How many times have you gone out to eat with your girlfriends only to be interrupted by boys who insist on getting your number? The next time you and your girlfriends decide where to eat, your response is, "Not there. We can't even eat without getting hit on." Without even realizing, you have been influenced to take a different direction, not because the food was horrible but because the atmosphere was. How about when the people at the table next to you won't stop cursing and making obnoxious comments? No one can honestly enjoy their meals in an environment like that.

I didn't care to notice about most of these issues until I decided to start writing about it. Below I have chosen my top 5 favorite restaurants of all time. If you have any comments or suggestions on restaurants that should be included on this review, please post them in the comments section at the bottom of this post.

1. Kona Grill

I don't think any restaurant will ever top the list, but Kona Grill. For all you sushi-lovers out there, this is the place to eat at if you're craving some good sushi. They have the best drinks, best sushi, and best atmosphere. They have a small outdoor patio that's always busy but always friendly. Everything is clean and staff members are pleasant. My personal favorites are the shrimp tempura roll and the strawberry basil lemonade. Definitely recommend!

2. La Gloria

La Gloria is definitely a must-try. They offer outside patio dining with amazing views right by the riverside. Cute little ducks roam the restaurant, and you're able to walk the riverside after your meal. This is probably my favorite place if we are deciding based on the atmosphere. It's so laid back, the staff members are friendly, and people go for the same reasons: to enjoy a meal with a nice view. My personal favorite includes the elote Mexicano (Mexican corn) pictured above. Absolutely amazing.

3. Jalisco Grill

If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, Jalisco Grill is the perfect fit for you. It's not the most luxurious place to eat at, but the food is fantastic and everything is extremely clean. There are countless of Mexican restaurants I've tried in the past, but the food never seems to meet my standards. Coming from the daughter of a mother who cooks the best Mexican food to ever exist on Earth, yes, my standards are extremely high. My personal favorites here are the menudo and chips and queso (cheese)! Love. Love. Love!

4. Cheddars

Cheddar's is your classic American restaurant. They have everything. There is a dish on the menu to suit anyone's taste. My favorite dish is the classic Chicken Alfredo. Trust me, I have had my fair share of Chicken Alfredo from a variety of places, and this one tops the charts by far. The dim lighting and quiet atmosphere is suitable for your late-night romantic dinners.

5. Costa Pacifica

I love the atmosphere at Costa Pacifica. This place is fairly new to me, so I can't really say I have a favorite dish there yet. I haven't tried much to make a decision with intellect yet. However, everything is extremely clean, and their outdoor dining is absolutely beautiful. It's definitely a favorite spot.

There are so many more favorite spots I like to visit now and then, but it would be way too long of a post to mention all of them. In this case, I don't think words are even necessary. The photos speak for themselves. These are my top five for now, and that may change as I gain broader knowledge on the topic. If you guys have any suggestions on good places I can try out, I am always open to new things.

Xoxo,
Cheryl
