Drugstore Makeup Haul

spring 2015 makeup haul cheryl deni

Here's a spring 2015 makeup haul for you guys! I love, love, love makeup hauls! We get to talk about everything that's trending at the drugstore and I get to connect with you all and hear all about what you guys have been trying out. Then you guys inspire me to go out and get the stuff you guys are trying out, and
it's just a never ending cycle. I picked up several things that I'm hoping to do reviews on for you all. I know everyone is all about the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation. I haven't even opened it! I want my first reaction to be on camera with you all! The name sounds like every girl's dream in a foundation, though.. "matte AND poreless?!" I'm excited to try it.

We also can't forget the Loreal Infallible line. I haven't purchased the foundation. Every time I make it out to the drugstore, they are completely sold out in my color. However, I did do a haul blog post and a monthly favorites video on the Loreal Infallible powder! It is definitely one of my go to face powders right now. I love the matte finish. It makes you look so clean, and it lasts all day.

Anyway, below are the products I picked up, or if you'd rather enjoy watching them in a video format that is provided down below as well. Enjoy!

Like I said in my video below, I am on a mission to find the best makeup remover towelettes! I already tried these out, and I can assure you they have the Cheryl Deni stamp of approval. However, I do have to say one thing. Because they are so soft, I feel like they tug at the eye a little more than they should. So far, the best towelettes I have tried are the Clean & Clear Night Relaxing All-In-One Cleansing Wipes. They contain sea minerals and sea kelp extract. However, these Garnier wipes are an excellent alternative. They smell absolutely amazing! I really like them.

This brush is ideal for setting your foundation. It is huge and a bit heavy, so you can't take it with you everywhere you go. However, it is a high quality brush, and I recommend it to those of us who love big, fluffy makeup brushes.

You know, I thought I was going to be head-over-heels obsessed with this foundation, but I'm not. I don't know if maybe I'm using the wrong brush or what, but I'm not very impressed with this. At first, I was very intrigued by the thought of having a liquid mousse foundation, but once I actually used it, my situation changed. It is very dry and stiff on the face. Given the fact that it is intended to be a matte foundation, I understand why it is doesn't have a liquefied texture. Also, I didn't use a primer when I first tried it, so that may be part of the problem as well. I feel like I need to play with it a bit more before I can give you guys an honest and thorough review. Stay tuned.

In my video, I said this would be the perfect contour brush. It's not. It might be flat, but the bristles are shaped into a circle. It made a really thick contour line on my face. So, no. I don't recommend it as a contour brush. It is, however, a really good powder or foundation brush. For those purposes, I do recommend this makeup brush.

I have never found a razor to call mine. Since the beginning of time, I have switched from one razor to the other. To this day, I am still on a search. With that being said, I cannot say anything more about this one. It is honestly just like any other razor I've tried. It literally just slides across the skin and doesn't give me that feeling of a really close shave. Yes, it did give an appropriate finish, but I don't know. I won't be purchasing this product a second time. For those of you who like the feel of not feeling like you're actually shaving, this may be the razor for you. I, on the other hand, am considering turning to men's razors soon. I used my brother's razor one time and absolutely loved it. It appears that in this particular situation, men do play harder than the girls.

This brush is perfect for applying the eye shadow base on the lid. It is stiff and short. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend it for blending. It does pick up a lot of product, and that's exactly what you want when applying your base. Thumbs up for this one.

I'm so excited to try this one. I refuse to open it because I want to do a first impressions video. I want my initial reaction to be caught on camera. So, no. I haven't tried this one yet. Like I said in my video, I am all about matte and poreless makeup looks. They really sold me with simply the name of the product. Way to go, Maybelline marketing team. We'll see if the name owns up to the hype.

This brush is good for just about anything. I can use it to apply foundation, contouring, setting concealer. Really..anything. It's universal in use and high quality. I'm extremely pleased with this purchase and looking forward to featuring it in my coming videos.

I haven't had the pleasure of trying this brush out, but I'm thinking of using it for a variety of things. Like the Real Techniques brush above, this brush is universal in use. It seems like the perfect blush brush, but we'll see. Compared to the Real Techniques brushes, these were cheaper. I'm not sure which one, but one of my e.l.f. brushes was retailed at $3! Yes, guys! $3! That is insane. They are quality brushes just like the Real Techniques.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation (110 Porcelain)

I only bought the powder mentioned above because I got this foundation. I figured if I was going to do a review on the product, I might as well pick up the rest of the line. I tried to find the concealer, but they were out. I was so sad. I've heard it is a dupe for the NARS radiant creamy concealer, which I just purchased as well. So, I really want to compare the two. Let me know if you'd like to see a review/comparison of the two, and I'll be more than happy to do that for you guys! Matte and poreless, here we come.
