Voluminous Long Hair Tips

voluminous long hair

Hello everyone! So much to do, so little time. I’ll get right into this. Probably one of the most requests I’ve gotten so far, since I started blogging, has been a tutorial on how I get voluminous long hair. I keep saying I’m going to upload a tutorial on YouTube, since trying to explain
the process through writing and photos is so much more difficult. However, I realize that won’t be happening in the next week, so I thought I would share a little something until I get my channel going. I do want to save the process for a video tutorial, but I’m at least going to share the products I use with you ladies.

Ok, so first of all, it’s all about your cut. If you do not have your hair cut in long layers, your voluminous long hair will never get that ripple effect you see on the image above. Your shortest layer can start right at your shoulders, and your longest layer can be as long as you’d like. That’s a matter of personal preference. My longest layer reaches the bottom of my back.
You can try to create this hairstyle with shorter hair. Just be aware that your curls will start closer to the top of your head, which will result in more volume. All of this will be explained in detail in my video tutorial.
I use Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths Shampoo and Conditioner. Pantene supports the Beautiful Lengths Program. This program donates real hair wigs to women fighting cancer. This way they are able to enjoy voluminous long hair like the rest of us. How awesome is that?! Not only do they support a great cause, but this product has been the only product that has helped me grow my hair as long as it is now. If you are struggling with trying to grow healthy, strong hair, I definitely recommend this product. I have always recommended this product, since before I became a blogger. It’s a must have. You can purchase it below or find it on my online store. You can either purchase the products separately, together, or the 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner product.

To protect my hair from the heat of my styling tools, I use the CHI Silk Infusion, Silk Reconstructing Complex. It’s a leave-in treatment enriched with pure silk and wheat and soy proteins. My hair has such a smooth and healthy bounce when I apply this before I use my styling tools. When I forget to put it on, my hair feels dry and stiff. You can totally see a difference. I personally love this product because it doesn’t make your hair look oily. For those of you with oily hair, this product is perfect. It gives just the right amount of shine and does away with any dullness to give you that long voluminous hair you wish to achieve. You can purchase the 2 oz. or 6 oz. bottle.

Finally -my styling tools. I use the Hot Tools Supertool 2 inch curling iron with heat control. Voluminous long hair, as beautiful as it is, comes with a lot of weight, so I choose to use the 2 inch barrel. It is able to curl a larger amount of hair because the barrel is thicker. If you have long, thin hair, I recommend you use the 1 and 1/2 inch. However, if you have shorter hair I would definitely recommend the 1 inch barrel (3rd image below), so you don’t result in over-sized curls.

These shorts are so lightweight and fresh! They’re perfect for hot weather. They are 100% rayon, so you can easily dress them down for a casual look, or wear heels and dress them up for a night out. I love them, and I got the last pair! No worries. Thank God for online shopping. You can find them here.

This blouse is also perfect for the heat. It’s extremely lightweight and doesn’t stick to your body like most blouses do in hot weather. It is 100% polyester, and I really like that it’s not just a Plain Jane blouse. I love simplicity with a little edge to it and this blouse provides just that,  featuring lattice and grommet accents on the shoulders as displayed in the image above. They match with almost anything. These gems are from Steve Madden. They are made out of suede with a heavy dose of edgy, dotted studs. Click on the image above to check them out!
