Drugstore Makeup Haul (Maybelline + Covergirl + Loreal)

cheap drugstore makeup products haul loreal maybelline covergirl

I went on a drugstore makeup splurge about a week ago. I really wanted to film a haul or maybe a review on these products, but I attended a wedding and couldn’t wait to try these out. Maybe I’ll do a review on them anyway. Let me know if you guys would like to see one in the comments section below, and we’ll do it.

Anyway, I totally wished I would’ve told my sister to use these products in my most recent vlog. For those of you who haven’t seen my Trip to Laredo Vlog + My Sister Does My Makeup video, she uses some of the oldest makeup products I have. My dad calls me as soon as he watches my video just to make fun of me! He’s so mean! He says, “Hey, you know… if you need new makeup, all you have to do is ask…” as my mom and sister are laughing in the background. #NotCool

Guys, don’t you take your absolute favorite makeup products when you travel? I know I do. I mean, there’s only so much makeup a girl can pack for a road trip. Whatever. My parents are mean. My sister did get to use the L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Balm Pop (Bold Blush) and the CoverGirl TruBlend FixStick Concealer, Deep D5-6 pictured above. When it came to my powder, however, she used my L’Oreal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Powder (Porcelain), and you can literally see the aluminum at the bottom of the case. Hey, at least you know I’m not joking when I recommend the product!
So, since I’m not doing a video on these gems right now, I’m just going to jump into a quick overview on my first impressions of these makeup products because I used them for the wedding already.
This powder is absolutely amazing, and that’s why I wanted to talk about it first. I don’t know about it lasting 16 hours (I’ll have to do a little experiment soon), but I combined it with the Loreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder that was featured in my Drugstore Makeup Haul video. It lasted all night long. I was so pleased with it. It definitely does away with any shine on your face, and a little bit of product goes a long way. It gives you a really nice, matte finish. That’s literally everything a girl looks for in a powder, if you ask me. So, yes. This was a definite hit for me.

Maybelline Volum’ Express The Falsies Washable Mascara Blackest Black

This mascara has literally been the “talk of the town.” I hear everyone talking about it. My favorite drugstore mascara right now is the Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Curve Alert Mascara, but when I would mention this product to other people they’d completely reject it and say, “No! You need to try the Maybelline Falsies Mascara! That stuff is way better.” Well, I finally got around to adding it to my collection, and I have to say, guys. I’m not that impressed. Honestly, and you guys know I’m an open book and will always give my 100% honest opinion, I just wasn’t feeling this one. For starters, the wand is short. I instantly noticed a difference in the length of the wand, compared to my other mascara. I didn’t notice a huge difference in my lashes. It wasn’t horrible. It still got the job done, but I honestly feel like it was just like any other mascara. Don’t hate it. Don’t love it. Just an everyday look mascara. Let me know your thoughts about this in the comments section below. Maybe there’s something I’m missing, or there’s another way to effectively use the product.
Ok, so after my Trip to Laredo Vlog went up, I had so many readers/subscribers telling me how the fixstick my sister was using to contour my face was really a concealer. Yes, I am well aware this is a concealer. However, if you guys know anything about me, it’s that I use different products in several ways. I make the most out of the product I buy and use it in more than just one way. With that being said, yes, I do use concealers to contour sometimes, and I do switch out powders for bronzers, bronzers for blushes, etc. This concealer stick would never be a match for under my eyes, since it’s the darkest color available. I actually specifically chose this product for contouring. It blends beautifully, and I find it to be extremely efficient as a contour stick. As far as a concealer, I would rather stick to creamier substances like the L’oreal True Match Super-blendable Concealer, Fair/Light Cool and the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer.

Now, if you watch my video while my sister applies this product it looks light on camera. However, keep in mind that this is a lip balm, not a lipstick. For a lip balm, I’d say this particular color is well pigmented. I have another lip balm in the color nourishing nude (L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Lip Balm, Nourishing Nude), and it has barely any pigmentation. I really like the color bold blush. It’s a bright pink color. It’s not really bright, definitely nothing like a neon color or anything like that. It’s just a flirty, girly pink color. I see myself wearing a fun, colorful spring outfit with this lip color. It’s a really fun color with a necessary touch of classiness. Definitely recommend. I will try to film a review video where I can show you guys some swatches, or you can just check out my Instagram where I constantly upload photos of me using these products.

Below is a photo of how the color bold blush looks on the lips.

That’s pretty much all I have for you guys today. I hope you guys benefited from this post. Let me know in the comments section below if you guys have tried any of these products and what you think of them. Until next time, God bless you guys!
